FFShrine Movie Club part VIII: Global Warming Debate

For this round of movie club, I’m trying something a little bit different. Human caused global warming is something that’s been debated at ffshrine before, and I figured that posting up a movie for both sides would spark some really interesting discussions!

The Great Global Warming Swindle is a controversial documentary film by British television producer Martin Durkin which brings together the arguments of leading scientists who disagree with the prevailing consensus that carbon dioxide released by human industrial activity is the cause of rising global temperatures today. This film turns the world upside down, and uses an extraordinary cast of the world�s top scientists to do it. It�s the morality tale of the decade � of politicians eager to pander to prejudice, throwing vast quantities of public cash into scientific research aimed at supporting an unsupportable theory. It�s a tale of scientists fearful of speaking out, of upsetting the funding applecart and jeopardising the many thousands of research jobs generated for them by the global warming scare. Global Warming is indeed the biggest threat facing the world today, but not in the way you think.

We went to Al Gore’s movie with school on the last schoolday…
Everybody was like: ow noes..
But I had seen it before and enjoyed it, well, they just stopped the movie at some point because kids were just leaving and stuff..

All I know is that where I’m at, we got acres of dead/dying trees that environmentalists won’t let us get rid of. Every time I think about it, I silently pray none of those trees ever catch on fire. (And that’s the least of the stupidity the EPA has shoved down our throats!)

Holy Moly, we got one big hot potato of an issue right here.
