This is the best ‘Tales’ game by far in terms of gameplay, and it’s soundtrack is second only to Tales of Phantasia in the series.
Tales of Eternia had a god awful soundtrack, though…in comparison to these 2 that is.

Abyss has been sitting in my closet. I’ve been playtesting Star Ocean 2 for psp lately. Shame, really.
Tales of phantasia was translated by Dejap in 1997 I believe. The translated version is for SNES.
Also, tales of phantasia was officially released for GBA last year. DO NOT PLAY TOP for GBA!
Gameboy advance has the most god awful sound system in the world. search on rom-world.com or romhustler.net for the snes version and play it. It has lots of filthy dialogue that was not censored in the US version. Such as how klarthe believes ‘arche can fuck like a tiger.’
The battle system will make you wish it was like Symphonia’s…but it’s still good. The soundtrack is unbelievable.
