Stealing

I was just wondering how the steal command actually works, not how to use it, but what stats or other things increase the chance of stealing something ?

If I would guess it’ld be Luck and wheter the Steal Materia is mastered or not, if you guys know of anything else, please let me know.

Hi,

Stealing will be made much easier once you dig up the Key to Sector 5 (Midgar) or return to Midgar later in the storyline by parachuting. Get the item called Sneak Glove which can be bought in the upgraded wall market weapons store later on for about 129,000 gil once you hit Disc 2 or later.
