Getting Mithril

Hi all,

I know how to do all this, but whenever I talk to the sleeping guy he says: "Come on, you already escaped 4 times" and that’s all he says, is there any way to see my battle stats ?

[EDIT]: It seems I had 233 battles won when he said that, because I went outside, did another battle and then he said: "you won 234 battles", so I went to do another battle to get odd numbers and the same thing happened, so how exactly does it work and how can we check our battlestats ?
[EDIT2]: Did som more battles untill 244 and I got some kind of ring (Bolt Ring?), so I must have odd numbers for mithril, but then wy didn’t I get a mithril when I had 233 battles won ?
Going for 255 now, see how that goes 😉
[EDIT3]: At 255 I got a Mithril, but then I wonder why I didn’t get it at 233, maybe you first have to get the Ring with even numbers before you can get the Mithril with odd numbers ?

It’s because whenever you enter the Old Man’s Cave the chance of him saying what you want to hear is random. Basically, you just have to keep exiting and entering the cave until he reacts the way you want. So you could have obtained the Mythril at 233 fights but never mind. And yes, the number of fights do have to end with an odd number. Now that you have the Bolt Ring though, if I remember correctly, I don’t think you can get the Mythril as well. You can get the Mythril and then the Bolt Ring later on but not the other way round. But this is just a distorted memory so I could be wrong about this.

So I actually should have kept re-entering the cave untill I got the mithril instead of doing 22 battles outside?
