No more Megaupload, please!

Hi.

Dear uploaders,

MegaUpload is one of the best file hosting servers, but not for all.

Forexample, I’m from Czech Republic and if I try download whatever and whenever from MegaUpload, I see only "All download slots assigned to your country (Czech Republic) are currently in use. Please try again in a few hours…" – its not only temporary, its still, always, all the time 🙁

Please, if you a little can upload "your" soundtracks to another file hosting server, do it. Thank you very much.

If you’re looking for something in particular, I probably wouldn’t mind uploading it elsewhere…

but I also doubt that we’re going to change from using megaupload over something like that. It works for most people. :/

I know and I understand it – its only complain, because just about 50% of content of these pages is unavailable for me (us)… 🙁

Sadly, what happens to all the people that rely on megaupload? But on another note, try using a proxy server located in another country.

Because, this proxy servers not always work correctly – sometimes yes, sometimes not.

setup a proxy, use a pay account, etc.

no download site is perfect for everyone. megaupload works best for the far majority of us.

if you know of another site that’s

1) reliable
2) offers large file sizes
3) has good speeds
4) has long file retention (30 days of inactivity or greater)

let me know. as far as I know, megaupload is about the only one of these that exists.

i agree with sarah, rapidshare is the worst of them but megaupload seems to be the best choice, it’s not because of a national thing it’s just because we don’t want our stuff deleted 12 hours after we place it on there, i’m sure even you can understand that

I’m from Mexico too, but believe me, there are better ways. Installing anything on IE can slowly kill your pc’s speed. Use Firefox and the MU plugin (By the way, I posted about it in "Automated tools…" check it out!)

Well I’m from Argentina and I used to have the same problem until I try this little cheat. It works only for Firefox.

On the navigation bar type about:config

Then a list appears, look for general.useragent.extra.firefox right click on it and chose Modify

In my case it looks like this Firefox/1.5.0.7 Next write MEGAUPLOAD 1.0

Accept and it shouls look like this: Firefox/1.5.0.7 MEGAUPLOAD 1.0

Accept and ready!!

Just download the toolbar for IE (Internet explorer, AKA the worst browser) and just use IE for that.

Yes, I have a free account. With "non-member" access I have "waiting time" about 4000 minutes 😀 (Lovely RapidShare.de 😉 )

I don’t like IE myself.But I use it only to download freely from Megaupload and other sites which say ”download routes not available”.For web-surfing I use FF or Netscape.
Also,if you have a router and a dynamic IP address,after downloading with some site which has a limit on downloads,just turn on and off your router and your IP will change,therefore you can download without limits.

Well, there are many cheats for MU using FF. One of them is the one posted by MoonWizard, but there are many others such as the Switch agent or something like that. If you don’t like IE, you can still download from many sites with FF!!

I used the trick of Moon_Wizard and it worked for Megaupload.Thanks XD

Hey – I found the "same hack" even for Opera Web Browser !!!

Run Opera and to address row (?) type:

opera:config

– find ISP and click on it
– to id row type:

MEGAUPLOAD 1.0

– save! and restart Opera!

=> never more "Full slots"

Get a Paypal account and pay for some months of service, Megaupload & Rapidshare.
At the beggining i was not sure about paying… But once I bought the subscription, its the best thing I ever had.
You want ANYTHING?, just write on google "anything" & Rapidshare (Or Megaupload).
Rapidshare provides about 8 mirrors for each file, plus you can use getright to boost ur downloads.
But, my post isnt gay at all.

I have tried so many, but none works .

Sadly, MU doesn’t work for me where I live so I have to download each soundtrack one by one, though I’m not complaining. Last time I checked MU was hosting the Gears of War album, but it isn’t available on Galbadia Hotel yet. I really hope it gets uploaded soon.

Sounds goofy, but hey, it could work. Still, Divshare sucks.

i’d prefer MediaFire casue in my view it’s the best one yet. unlimited storage, good downloads etc.

There is fix for downloading from Megaupload.com:

Go to Tools -> Preferences (or press Ctrl+F12) -> Advanced -> Cookies -> Manage Cookies … -> find anything from Megaupload, click on it and select Edit
To Name field type megauploadtoolbar_visible
To Value field type yes
Click on OK -> Close -> OK … and…
…and NOW you can downloading WITHOUT SLOTS PERMISIONS !!!

There is similar method for Firefox:

Shutdown your Firefox. For me (on WinXP) I was find all necessary on C:\Documents and Settings\[profile name]\Data aplikac�\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\5kjft0wk.default \cookies.txt

Open cookies.txt file in some better editor then notepad (for example PSpad (http://pspad.com)) and edit anything Megaupload cookie by similar method as Opera:

Save cookies.txt file, start your Firefox and downloading without ful slots blahblahblah 😀

No, sorry – this is fix only for "full slots".

The thing about megaupload…is that even with this file deletion thing –> it’s still god compared to rapidshare. Especially with that happy hour premium.

megaupload used to rock.

now they have absurd download limits, they delete files, and they really have no advantages other sites don’t.

using mirror sites is where it’s at atm
