I was so happy they made and released this game. The Turbo definitely needed it. How many more shooters did the system need?

Yeah, it could use more fighters, we plan to eventually do a scrolling fighting game, kind of like Streets of Rage. No work has been done on it yet, other then basic planning, but, it’s one of our next games. Though, there’s nothing wrong with shooters, it’s still nice to have more variety.

That sounds cool, (Although isn’t Riot Zone exactly the same as Rival Turf on SNES?)
A different kind of theme would be good than the same old street revenger type that’s always used- Final Fight, Streets of Rage, Riot Zone, Renegade, Double Dragon, etc…

Well, the music is going to be hip hop, drum n’ bass, trip hop, etc. Which does kind of follow Streets of Rage’s path, though, I’m more experienced with that stuff then Yuzo, so, I’m gonna really pump that soundtrack. And from what I recall from the design document for it, I think you use different styles depending on what type of ink(you get tattoo’s in the game) you pick up along the way, though it’s been awhile since I went thru it, since we’re not focusing on it right now.

Oh, & Riot Zone, ain’t Rival Turf. I think Rival Turf, was done by Jaleco IIRC. Riot Zone, was done by Westone & was originally published in the arcades by Sega as a game known as Riot City. But Hudson was allowed to release the game, with new music(really good music I might add), & the level’s were rearranged in a different order, & some of the sprites are different. Infact, the mohawk guy in Riot Zone, is a black guy in Riot City, but they both walk exactly the same, as if there’s a rock in their shoes. It’s kind of funny.

And, speaking of fighters, I’ve been thinking, once we’re done with this hack of Dragon Warrior, maybe we could do a hack of Renegade or Double Dragon, or maybe Bad Dudes. My other thoughts were to do Trojan, or maybe that old Famicom Transformers game, though, it would need alot of work, since the game plain sucks, & I’d want to make it not suck:)

Sounds interesting. Hope it all works out well. How about some sort of parody or comedic title with slapstick/Naked Gun type humor?

Well, not in this game, but, we do have one coming, that, deffinitly has some humor, infact, most of the game IS humor, deffinitly has some Naked Gun/Airplane humor in it, I’d say.:)

Kind of the way The Bard’s Tale on PS2 was done, that was pretty funny.
