What the Hell Is AAC Audio?

I’ve been trying to convert some AAC Audio files into MP3, but the decoder refuses to carry out my dermand? A Little help much appreciated.

Why would you want to convert aac to mp3? aac has better sound quality than mp3 at the same compression.

AAC files are protected, so they can’t be burned on a disc in mp3 format. That’s the only problem I see with the file-type. Songs purchased on iTunes, for example, are in AAC format.
