I thought they had just equipped the accessory "ribbon" to be immune from the geo-stigma virus… Then again, with that logic, Cloud wouldn’t have it either. Then again, Cloud just has the worst luck… 😛

It’s supposed to mean that they live in a house with Geostigma, or they come in contact with it on a regular basis. Either that, or it was some weird fundraiser and they made poor Vincent wear one… Did he? I didn’t really notice.

I’d always thought it was something to do with Aeris because Square dont want to shut up about her, that and shes probably the single most important character in the game even when dead (probably more important then).

If it was about being in contact with Gostigma, half of midgar would have been wearing one. Put 2 + 2 toghether, Aeris wore a red/pinkish ribbon, when she was "buried" it wasnt there. It fell off.

Jimsour is right, to my knowledge that is, the red (actually pink) ribbons are just a symbol of aeris. Aeris’ outfit was just about all pink and red. If you havn’t noticed, only the people in the original story of ff7 (most important that is) are wearing the ribbon. Im not so sure if denzel is. The ribbons are just symbols of aeris, like i said before. And probly nothing more.
