Is Final Fantasy XIII going to be the ‘kindgom hearts’ of the FF series?

Check out this latest scan () from RPGamer.com and tell me that isn’t a Seifer-hybrid…

Although Tetsuya Nomura isn’t directing FFXIII (he’s directing FFXIII Versus), I strongly believe that these three games will be the ‘Kingdom Hearts’ of the Final Fantasy series in that characters from older FF titles will be seen in these games.

Nomura did say that he wanted to take the FF series in a new direction, after all… If my theory is accurate, I believe FFXIII is going to rock like no other.

So what are your theories? Is this a good or bad idea?

Nomura has already stated that the character design for ‘Lightning’ was based on the design for Cloud. It wouldn’t surprise me if he incorporated the designs of other characters in the series into his latest work. However, I seriously doubt he will actually bring characters back from previous games in the same way that they were brought back in Kingdom Hearts.

Recent news from Nomura also says that when he was told by the higher-up at SQUARE-ENIX to create this chick, Lightning, he was told to make a "female version of Cloud."

I think he achieved that.
