I dont know about violent. I could’nt wait either so i got the ntsc version! This will be my last ps2 game as well, on to the ps3 next for me.

In the short time I played it (it is neatly dusting my shelves now) it didn’t strike me as particularly violent. No more than an average day watching the news heh.

I think the reason it may have gotten 16+ may be for other reasons. On the U.S. version, it’s rated T for Teen, but it’s tagged for alcohol references and partial nudity.
I suppose it may be a bit more violent than the average Final Fantasy, if only because of the new style of combat.

I bet you can find some stuff on Saturday morning cartoons that are more violent than the stuff in FFXII…and that junk was made for little kids. So I think the 16+ rating, as Agent said, was for alcohol references and partial nudity.

In almost all the FF games where they used Shiva as summons of some sort, she was scantly clad, one of the main reasons why I like summoning her. She is really hot in FFxi. I don’t think this game is violent at all.
