High Arcana Drops

Does anyone know where to find High Arcana drops when you have the Canopic Jar thing that makes everything drop Arcana? So far I’ve only found one monster in Henne Phase 2 that drops High Arcana and it’s a rare Necrophobe called Glaring Eye.

I don’t remember anyone dropping high arcana. It’s just plain ‘ol arcana for me.

I’m just asking because I’m trying to get a Tournesol and I need like 6 High Arcana…you can get them from the bazaar but you need these things called Soul of Thamasa and theyre rare drops from the Oversouls in Nabudis…hard monster to find, AND rare drop…you just hardly get them…

i did the tournesol last night. took about 6 hours for everything. i found some guides on the web to get the items, but also using my cheat book i tweaked them and it seemed easier. if you need some tips, ask away. btw, i got pummeled by oversouls in nabudis, so maybe i got lucky on the high arcana. oh, another thing not talked about in the tournesol guides is the topic of how much money you need to just buy the items that make up the tournesol. it’s quite a chunk of change, then after you get the sword in the bazaar, that’s another 600 K. make sure you got some gil.

I was just reading in the strat guide that you can steal the high arcana’s from the espers as well.

i have all the espers already, so that doesnt help me =(

i guess this could help, it gives the way to buy two tournesol items using only one high arcana.

I never thought about it or even tried, but can you summon them, then select them with R1 and steal from them? It’s a crazy long shot, but…..

that’s thinking, lol.

If you are willing to deal with balknamies and oversouls, the rare critter Helvinik in the Necrohol of Nabudis will drop them about 1 in 3 times you kill it. If you want to get it to spawn, it will appear every time you kill 6 oversouls. As for the soul of Thamassa, the oversouls drop them. Stealing or poaching doesn’t work.

What are you talking about? I thought the Canopic Jar was something that increases item drops. Did you mean that every rare game has a 5% chance of dropping High Arcana? (Also, old thread)

LOLZ. The Canopic jar makes all enemies capable of dropping Arcanas. Regular Arcanas. And yes, Rare game have a small percent chance of dropping High Arcanas.

The canopic jar is synthesized through the bazaar.

Bombshell also drops High Arcanas if you build a decent chain, and they’re not that rare either. You can also get the prized Yagyu Darkblade if you’re lucky enough. There’s literally no weapon sweeter in dealing with Yiazmat besides the Masamune than this ninja sword.

Worth the trip to Lhusu Mines if you ask me.

Can you chain oversouls? I know you can "zone-chain" teleporting monsters like Dustia and Helvenik, but do oversouls teleport? Because that would be a nice solution.

The only thing I needed Souls of Thamasa for were synthesizing High Arcana. I got plenty of those stealing from Espers and fighting Bombshell, before I ever had to get around to fighting Oversouls repeatedly. Got 2 High Arcana off Bombshell, never did get a Darkblade 🙁
