Chest respawn?

Greetings,

I managed to defeat the Demon Wall in Rathwalls tomb so I could get into the hidden area. But what I had to see: No chest? x).

And I thought, there should be a sword named Demonbane.

Do I have anything to do so that it spawns? Or something like that? I l reloaded my game three times now, there won’t be any chest ….

What do I wrong? Please help me… I really want this weapon, and I know it must be there.

from the outside save point then venture back down there and try to open it

The chest will eventually spawn, and respawn – just make sure that you’re checking the right place. You end up in a spot that’s not on the map, and there is a long staircase on either side. You have to go down the staircase, and the treasure chest is in the middle of the platform, usually surrounded by Flan’s.

Yep, than it’s the right spot, but I know tried for another 5 times, makes 8 turns, but no Chest there yet … can it take soooo long to spawn?

Procedure:

Going down to chest place > Going back to teleporter > Warping out > Warping back > Going to chest place > […].

Hope that’s how it should be done?

I’d recommend saving at the yellow crystal at the start of the tomb, then go to where the chest should be. If it’s not there, or it does appear but there’s no Demonsbane sword in it, press start, then square which takes you back to the main screen and reload your game then try again.

Now another point that should be made is that if you have the monograph for amorphs (not sure which one it is) you may want to hang out and battle the flans in the chest area as they can drop an axe of some sort that has a very nice attack rating for that point in the game.

Monograph? Not sure what you mean, my english isn’t that good, but if it is what I think of, you mean this Books or whatever that increases the droprate of f.e. Birds etc. – Well if it’s that, nope, I didn’t buyed anyone up to this point .. where always lazy about buying something for 18.000 Gil from the Bazaar … maybe I should next time.

So there is really online try/reload/try/reload … hmm damn … really annoying that after now nearly 60 tries it’s still doesn’t showed up 🙁

Yes, the Monographs are the expensive Bazaar items that increase the quality of drops from certain types of monsters.

60 tries and no chest seems very excessive. Are you sure you’re in the right spot? Can you walk me through how you get there starting at the way point just to be sure?

I’m having a similar problem here. The chest spawns but only gil inside. Anyone successfully done this to get the Demonbane?

Absolutely – I actually spent quite a bit of time trekking back and forth to this chest before I realized how to make it respawn properly (see my post in this thread from 01/13).

It took me quite a few tries before I actually received the Demonsbane sword, but once I got it I kept going back until I had 3 (one for each of melee characters at the time). After receiving the first one, each subsequent sword was achieved far quicker than the previous.

The way to get 100% sure the demonsbane sword is defeat both Deathwalls first. Second the first Deathwall there is a cyrstal where it stood touch it. This lifts up blocks opening the Lower doors go down the right one. Continue to the door across from you. Follow the stairs down battling the monsters till you get to a point where the walkway is flat and goes to the otherside and the stairs going up on that side. The chest which looks like a Blade on a pedstal is there. I got it on my first try and never went back for more so I don’t know the respawn sorry. But follow those directions and you should be in the area where the Sword should be.
