I am trying to figure out how I’m supposed to open a PSF2 file I downloaded from a RAR file at Zophar’s Domain, since I really REALLY want to get a couple of songs off it. I’ve downloaded WinAmp for the player, and installed Highly Experimental as the plugin for PSF files. But no matter what I do, the minipsf2 file will not play on WinAmp. Is there something I’m missing here? I am totally new with this file extension and not very technical, yet I really want to open it, so any simplified help I can get will be appreciated.

are you sure you installed it correctly?

make sure it shows in plugins.

if it doesn’t, uninstall winamp, delete the extension & redownload both

… and make sure your speakers are on

Okay, no worries. I figured out what was wrong: something about some ‘lib’ file that I didn’t use first before using the minipsf2 file. Works like a charm. I hate it when I post a question, only to answer it myself shortly after. :/

There are libraries for decoding on Zophar (http://www.zophar.net/utilities/psf.html), one for Foobar2000, which you can use to convert the minipsf2 files.
