Hey there- does anyone know where I could find download links to translated versions of the Manga version of Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (Kaze no Tani no Naushika) and Porco Rosso (Hikoutei Jidai)? I’m a huge fan of the movies and would really be interested in seeing how Miyazaki adapted his stories from a manga into an anime.

A translated version of Nausicaa of the Vally of the Wind was released for sale over 3 years ago. If such a site were put up, it’s probably down by now.

And as far as I know, most Miyazaki films, were films first and manga later.

Actually Nausicaa and Porco are the only two- all the others are standalone film ideas from Miyazaki except for Kiki and Howl, which are based on books. Also both Nausicaa and Porco came out in manga form before their films, though the Nausicaa manga continued being made well after the movie came out- that’s why it would be interesting to see how the stories developed from one format to another.

So if anyone out there does have them as a zipped file or a link to a spot on rapidshare/megaupload etc that would be great, as I don’t think they’d be available directly from a specific website, dead or otherwise.
