Favorite Frank Sinatra Song?

I am by no means a fan of mr. Sinatra, but I also cannot deny the fact that there was something very charming about many of his songs, for both women and men. I heard "Summer Wind" and "I’ll Be Seeing You" the other day, and I found myself singing along, which is quite normal for me, even though I never listen to Frank. I realize that he didn’t write his own material (credit goes to Gershwin), but he still had that special glow.

Sinatra is over-rated.

Fly me to the moon, with all the way a close second. His rendition of moonlight serenade is also splendid.

I realize that he didn’t write his own material (credit goes to Gershwin), but he still had that special glow.Sammy Cahn and Jimmy Van Heusen ftw. This never really phased me though, to be quite honest. Granted, he didn’t write all of his own material, but it was his selection, his effortless stlye, and ultimately his phenomenal voice that made the songs as spectacular as they were.

I am not a real big Sinatra fan to be honest. He songs just seem kind of cheesey to me and not the good kind of cheesey that is fun and playful.

My favourites in no particular order:

Girl from ipanema
They can’t take that away from me

I enjoy the majority of them, but these are the stand out ones for me.
Nothing better than melting into a chair on a sunday night with the best of album and a bottle of single malt scotch. 12 yrs or older at least.

I think an evening of playing 4 player Mario Kart and enjoying a six pack of craft brews is totally more entertaining.

I’m a Sinatra fan and I also sing his stuff (amongst others) for a living so it’s difficult to pick just one but for this moment I’d pick a tune he did with Atonio Carlos Jobhim called Wave. Dig it.

A draw between "A Girl from Ipanema" and "You’ll Never Walk Alone", both being covers.

I have his entire catalog but the first song that came to mind was this one from 1954.
