Ultimate Weapon

A friend informed me that there are like 5 chest that are not to be open because it prohibits you from EVER getting Vaan’s ultimate weapon EVER. Does any one no if this is true and whether or not I have opened them?

Some of the chests, I’ve been told, are in the very beginning. So if you are already aways into the game, and have been collecting chests…YOU’RE SCREWED

1. there are not char ultimate weapons in this game. just generic non character specific ultimate weapons that anyone can use. :p

2. yes it is true. its a spear. strongest weapon in the whole game. here are the chests.

4 LOCATIONS to be exact.

1) Treasure chest in Lowtown, outside of Old Dalan’s place

2) When sneaking into the palace there are several chests in the Cellar. Do not open the two chests in the southeast corner.

3) All treasure chests in the Confiscatory (the place where you get your weapons and armor back after being captured)

4) In the Phon Coast, later in the game, there is an island with 16 chests all near each other. The 4th chest that must NOT be opened is among these, so it is best to leave them all alone. They only contain Gil anyway.

what is the name of the ultimate weapon for vaan’s ?

I’ll have to keep this in mind when I play through the next time. Although I imagine something like this would be tagged pretty strongly in a walkthrough or strategy guide. At least, I would hope.

as i already mentioned. vaan doesn’t have an ultimate weapon. you can make him use ANY weapon. swords, daggers, guns, xbows, spears, WHATEVER! you can make him a mage if you want! nobody has ultimate weapons.

there ARE ultimate weapons, but not that pertain to any character.

My friend was being a real tard and made every one use guns worked just the same but still retarded.
