Music which is stored on Xbox 360 games are apparently saved as .XMA files. Are there any players for the PC so that music ripped from 360 games can be played on the PC?

The .xma is supossed to be based on wma pro technology. Maybe a player that can read wma pro can read xma files.

I’m not sure of all this…

There is a wiki page about this… maybe you could look at it.

If you have an IPod. You can play music off of the Xbox 360. Just insert the cable that is hooked to the ipod to the USB port. The best thing a/b it is, it saves disk space and time so you won’t have to wait to rip the music to the hard drive. Make sure you download the Ipod support program so you can play music files from ripped CD’s. How cool is that?

I wish the 360 disc used the basic ISO DVD format that PC drives can read, like PS2.

I know this is an ancient post to reply to, but the 360 is an iPod killer. Why? It’s because you can’t safely disconnect the iPod without corrupting files. MS didn’t think to put that function in. It’s just like ripping it straight out of your PC.
Music can be pulled from flash drives too and provided you have back ups it is easier to fix these ( just format and reload the files). I love my Xbox, but someone must have been on the stupid pills when they designed the music section.

flash media has a limited number of writes… each time you write to flash media you’ve just decreased its lifetime

Thank you. I didn’t actually know that. How many roughly do you get before it packs in? I might just keep doing what I’m doing though, as it will work out cheaper than trying to fix a busted 250 iPod(which has already happened to a friend).
Absolutely fantastic site BTW. I had been looking to get the Tenchu music for years and this site, quite frankly, made my day.=)
