Near the beginning of the game, it tells you that you should sell off your excess loot, because you can get a lot of gil and there’s not much point in keeping a bunch of it around. But some of the items, stored in that section are actually useful, like Teleport Stones or whatever they’re called, so I’m finding myself a bit reluctant to sell off some of the other items. Is there any reason why I would need to hang on to it?

no not really, only thing you should really keep is the teleport stones…

Okay, thanks! I’ll sell away then. And maybe just keep one of each, ’cause I like having a complete inventory.

its not really complete, the loot is actually kind of worthless, but hey your game, your loot…

Hold onto the serpentskin you get from the mark in the mines. Other then that and the teleport stones, sell it all, because as you sell loot, it opens up items in the bazaar, which you can generally get before they’re available in the shops, and for a reduced price.

Okay, thanks, I will definitely keep the serpentskin in mind. But it doesn’t affect anything if I hang on to just one of each, does it? Other than that I would get those bazaar items just a teeny wee bit later than I would otherwise?

I was a bit nervous about selling loot in the beginning. Wolf pelts and stuff I figured had no real use, but I didnt know if the stones had any sort of benefit. I’ve started selling everything now, though, cos broke D: Also, I am not very far into the game, but I will be sure to keep all serpent skins!

I hang on to 1 of each, the best strategy to me (I don’t read guides or anything in advance). Even one pebble :D!!

What in the hell are the serpent skins for?

I guess we’ll find out. Don’t anybody post it — I’m sure it would be some kind of spoiler and you know, why not just wait and find out sage71198?

actually no its not really a spoiler. the serpenskin is just for a sidequest. if you like to do sidequests…keep it. you’ll need it. if not, it has no value.

Agent0042

🙂 Keep, then! I love doing sidequests.

yeah, sidequests are the best part of any game *remembers with love the monster arena in Dragon Quest VIII* or the worst *remembers with anger dodging 78 lightnings in FFX and then getting hit"

Man you ain’t never lying. I used to get so pissed off dodging the lightning.

no not really, only thing you should really keep is the teleport stones…

There are alot of loot items that help you to get secret stuff later on. You should keep at least 1 of every item to be safe, IF you do not have the strat guide to tell you which items will be used for side quests later on. Some of the items are required to get other items which will, in turn, gain you access to areas or more powerful equipment/items.

I will definitely be hanging on to at least one of each then. Maybe two for some if it seems like they’re rare or important.

Gilthanos

just remember, just because you can get alot of money if you trade it in, doesn’t mean that it is important. One of the important pieces I got is only worth 70 gil, while another is worth thousands. Keep that in mind.

Agent0042
11-11-2006, 05:49 AM
Thanks. I’ll keep that in mind too. That any of a number of things could signify importance.

i’d wish they just made a list cause i don’t wanna keep 1 of everything. tha’ts too much junk. >.<

It just depends on your prespective and what you’re doing. If you’re just leveling (like I am) I sell everything – including the teleport stones because I’m always in the same area (Usually around Giza Plains at the moment).
