Hold on R2 and keep on pressing Triangle.
More hits, more damage.
There is where luck comes into rescue.
What I do is.. I press R2.. see what comes up, press it again, wash rinse repeat
If you only have one mist attack you cant expect it to do much on its own.
EDIT: wtf i just got 14 chained mists and it only did 10k dmg lol. I guess it depends what atks u are using. x_x
Under certain conditions, you can make a Concurrence happen. For instance, in order to use Inferno you only need to use three level one quickenings. Black Hole is the highest, and requires four of each level 1, level 2, and level 3 quickenings. Hopefully that helpd you out 🙂
I tried it on the Judge boss I kept tapping R2.
What do I do? Hold R2 and tap triangle?
I’ll try it tomorrow and give you the updates.
I see these "quickenings" mentioned in many threads.
I disagree. Especially once all of your characters have them. Don’t do this, it’s a bad habit. It’s like learning how to play DDR, and following the on-screen dancer in beginning mode, and putting your feet back in the middle after each step. It may work in the beginning, but later on, it’ll get you killed.
No
Apparently each time you enter a quickening, you get a few extra seconds in. I heard it somewhere, I’m guessing in my guide.
Wow, a Black Hole finish? I always seem to get Inferno, Torrent, Ark Lash and one time I got a wind-based ending.
The max chain I linked was 11. Do I need at least 13 to get the Black Hole?
PS – are these finishings ACTUALLY elemental based, or did the creators of FFXII just need to make them look cool? Because if they’re elemental based, that kinda sucks since you might end up healing the foe if the wrong finishing comes up.
If no characters have their name in white letters, press "R2" to shuffle, and hope that one will light up (the button you’re supposed to press appears next to their name)…
>> It took me a loong time to realize this….
If you have all 3 characters with full MP, when you start a quickening with one of them, the other two will always have an option to use their quickening at first (as long as their MP is full). Once you’ve used theirs, their MP will go to zero and they might be greyed out, and you begin to need to shuffle.
This means then…if you have three characters, you want to try to get the characters you’ve done quickenings already with to do another one–only if you can’t find another quickening, then you can just press the character with full MP’s button (it’s always lighted).

And like, you can do quickenings four times in a row…
I had lv1 quickenings for Vaan, Balthier, Fran, and Ashe, and Penelo & Basch didn’t have any…
So when I entered a battle against a boss, I had a party with Vaan, Penelo, and Basch, and only Vaan had a quickening. I used it, and chained as many times alone as I could with Vaan, and then I switch one of the non-quickening people out. Then I do the quickening again, with the second person (and both Vaan and the new person can do it). Then, I switch out the third for another person with quickenings, and I can do it with all three peoples’ quickenings…
And I can switch again and do it again with the last person…

If you wanted to do it like that, you could get one (or more) for everyone, start with one person on the field, and do it with him/her. Then you bring in the next person, do it again, rinse and repeat bringing in only 1 new person each time. This would get a total of 6 in a row.
