You have to change to all the dresspheres on the character in questions spheregrid. Say for example, Paine is using a spheregrid with Warrior, Dark Knight and White Mage. To be able to use her special dressphere, you need to switch to all of them, during a battle. So say, you’re using Dark Knight, you need to swap to Warrior, and then White Mage, and then you should be able to use her special dressphere.

For more clarification, after the character has spherechanged into all of the dresspheres, you have to go back to the garment grid window, then press [R1], and then press [x]. :smrt:

Yeah, most people agree the special dresspheres are generally sucky. Oh, adn I think any tutorial is available at any time by talking to Shinra.

I always liked using Yuna’s special dressphere… Cant remember the exact name… like Flora Fallal or something like that >< But since my PS2 broke i havent been able to use it 🙁 (Only got to Chapter 3)

Special dresspheres are extrememly powerful if you take the time to level them up and learn the abilities. Unfortunately, doing that is really irritating. For me, a better way of doing it would be to have something like a limit gauge which when full would allow you to change into special dressphere mode. Changing dresspheres during battle for no reason other than to allow you to switch to the special dressphere was quite annoying.
The Unerring Path Garment Grid makes this easier, by the way. You get it when you first acquire one of the special dresspheres.
I tend not to use them much myself.

I find that the problem with the special dresspheres, although I may be wrong, was that they gain no bonuses from the accessories your characters have equipped. This means that, in the later stages of the game, they can actually be worse than just a normal dressphere.

That’s true. You don’t get the stat bonuses with the special dresspheres, although you can learn Double HP and Triple HP.
