One amongst other things as well. The declivity of any inital intrigue upon reading this thread’s title stems from sain’s monotonous tone, disorganized syntax and deficiency in grammar thereof in the preface post. Three strikes; he’s out.

Is there even an Ultima Weapon in FFIX? I thought Ozma was like the Ultima / Omega Weapon…

The Ultima Weapon in FF9 is actually Zidane’s top thief sword. Attack power of 100, pretty blades, all sparkly and stuff, and it’s a somewhat grueling process to get it.

And yes it’s "easy," it’s just grueling to do the entire Chocobo sidequest.

And no, in that case, there is no Ultima weapon monster.

It amazes me how after 2 games of Weapons, FFIX has none. (Minus the sword) I always thought the weapons were great for passing time, leveling up and such to fight them.

FF9 was known for its difference to the previous two. That was the idea. Don’t forget there was Ozma though.
