Because not everyone will understand some of the Japanese references or jokes. A good example of this is Shin-Chan, in which they replaced a bunch of Japanese jokes that would go over the American audience’s heads and replaced them with American jokes.
Although, sometimes it would make sense if they leave some things unchanged, but otherwise it doesn’t bug me.

the refrences would be hella hard to get if they left it alone. especially if its the type of comedy poking fun at popular things. they’d prolly drop names of idols and we woudln’t get it.
but if translated, would be like making fun of paris hilton and her whoriness. we woudln’t understand the joke if they stuck with the original name of some random whory idol named "Futoi Putaro" lol
