Getting into Bevelle or not?

I cant remember what chapter this is, but its after you have infiltrated bevelle. when i go inside bevelle and up to thin walkway above, i walk to the corner, but there is a lift blocking my way. I cant jump onto the lift or touch it, and i cant walk around it. is this just because there is nothing there or am i missing something. please help

Okay, I think I know where you’re talking about — but just to verify. You go into the New Yevon headquarters and take the center lift up. Once you’re up, you then go through a door / opening and then follow a path, and then eventually, you reach another lift there that is inaccessible, right? If you’re talking about the one I think you’re talking about, that’s Baralai’s private lift. You can’t use it.

Instead, go back downstairs and explore the lower area for two rooms. Go first to the one on the right, then climb on a platform there. Then, go to the left one and mess around with a platform there and you should get some sort of message about being granted access to the lower level. Go back out to the center room and try the lift there, it should now take you down.

The town Bevelle? Oh no, you never get access to the town Bevelle proper in this game. Yeah, I know, that was probably my main disappointment in FFX-2 — I wanted access to the town Bevelle, since it wasn’t seen in FFX, but they didn’t include it.
