OK, my dilemma. On bebo I designed a FFVII quiz. one of these questions was
”Did holy suceed in destroying meteor?”
A few people did it, most doing ridiculously bad. One such FFan purporting to have godly wisdom done it, and did shite. Now this fuck starts slandering, dissing my knowledge of the game, despite him saying Dyne held the keystone, and such pearls of wisdom like, ”Ruby was the weapon advancing on Midgar” etc!
Anyway back on point. Is Holy using the lifestream as a sheild and weapon, or is the lifestream moved in some other way? i.e. the planets own response and not related to Holy.

Well, my perception of the events at the end of FFVII was that Holy was using the lifestream as a way of shielding the rest of the world from Meteor. I think we can safely say that if Meteor hit without the protection of the lifestream that the world would take huge damage. So yeah, Midgar deserved to go to spare the rest of the world.

Hey guys, way to play right into the hands of dickhead writers who left the story incomplete to make you ponder over what might have happened and give the illusion of depth.

I thought Holy materia summoned the lifestream, much like Bahamut materia summoned Bahamut.

And being that even people in midgar seemed to have survived the crash, i’d say it did exactly what it said on the tin.
