Ozma 1 on 1!!!

I was able to beat ozma with my Zidane alone it took me a few trys though. My Zidanes was at level 99 all auto abilities learnt, with best Ozma battle armor on.

I had His Ultima weapon equiped, a circlet, a jade armlet, ninja gear, and a Protect ring on. His stats were

HP=7056 MP=372 speed=34 strength=64 magic=54 spirit=49 M-def=56

I also had his theivery doing 9999 unblocked. I had Auto life Auto Auto haste Auto regen HP+20% no ! killer abilities equiped I saved room for the stuff I mentiond before besides Ozma is not Classifyible as any type of creature. and I also had status protective abilities on the ones important for this battle of course. This battle was very hard though. I just wanted to know if anyone else has ever tried this and accomplished it.:smrt: =)

I’m sure there are some faqs about this. There is beating Ozma on level 1 and getting excalibur2 (which almost everyone knows of)

It’s quite possible.

But, not terribly admirable, as regardless of character level or characters chosen, fighting Ozma is a game of Russian roulette. Lv1 or Lv99, if it casts Curse, you’re fucked. Simple as that. Meteor is also basically an automatic kill; thankfully you can block Holy and Doomsday using a Pumice Piece/Dark Gear/Light Robe/Demon’s Mail/etc. .

Auto-Haste and Auto-Regen are -BAD- ideas for fighting Ozma. Reason: Curse. There is no way to stop the Zombie, Doom, or Berserk status effects (in my honest opinion, these are glaringly obvious game flaws). Regen will kill a Berserk-Zombie, and you won’t be able to revive them. Haste is going to make Doom proceed all the more quickly, and since Ozma only casts spells with ridiculous animation times, your turn frequency won’t change from being Hasted.

Since Curse, Meteor, and Doomsday (Ozma’s favorites) cannot be Reflected, Auto-Reflect is likewise a waste of time. Auto-Life, on the other hand, is excellent, and in fact it would be wise for Quina to keep replenishing that effect throughout the fight.

The general party used for this is Quina, Freya, and someone with reviving capability (I like Amarant, actually. There’s no point saying "Zidane," because he’s required -_-). Assuming, of course, that the skills have been built properly, you should only be attacking Ozma with Dragon’s Crest, Frog Drop, or Thievery, as these cannot be defended against. You may want to equip status defense support, but since Curse inflicts stati you can’t defend against it won’t make much of a difference. Wear gear that absorbs Holy and Shadow, and try to have your party at levels divisible by 4.

Nice post, Rydia, but for those of us (read: me!!) with horrid luck, seeing a "ZOMG I BEAT OZMA WITH ONLY ZIDANE!" post is an automatic "pfft!" A Vivi/Freya/Amarant party in the high 60’s/low 70’s couldn’t beat Ozma for me–Curse and/or Meteor did me in about six times in a row, so I got frustrated and stopped trying.

In all honesty, it’s not like you need to be above 50 to finish the game–now if you’re going for Ozma, that’s probably another story, heh.
