I doubt it. If it does get a remake it’ll like be like FFIII DS, but that also depends on the success of FFIII. Square seems keen on keeping the first six with Nintendo now that they’ve patched things up with them.

it looks like a remake but an old one they remade ff6 for playstation i think. when you buy it 5 comes with it. Its called ff anthology i belive

I think its pretty hard to make a 3d remake of this game. There are so many sidequests, 2 worlds, so many characters and espers. I would like to see a reake but it has to worth it. A 2d remake would be an easier idea, but ff6 is great as it is.

We’re getting a 2D "remake" in the form of FFVI Advance, come November (in Japan), and probably a few months later, elsewhere.
As for a 3D-ish remake…? FFIII’s DS remake rocks. It would be really awesome to see FFVI remade like that, and as much as I was kind of against the idea in the begining, having seen it done now, I’m all for it.
…the only thing I think would throw me for a REALLY big loop is if they ever gave the characters real voices, a`la FF7’s myriad of regurgitations.

FF7 is not considered a classic final fantasy. The classic final fantasies are the first 6, which were on NES and SNES. 🙂
