you can start with any ff…
Orrrrr…..
Work your way down! 🙂
the only thing is maybe you may want to play 10 before 10-2 since that’s the only direct sequel.

hahah niggaaa
hehe…
because you love FFVI…
FFIV is cool too…
although i don’t finish it, hehe…
FFVII is a great game, not just in my opinion, the critics also say the same…
sadly, it got overrated by fanboy…
Or FFX.
But I suggest FFIX. ^-^
Also: FFVII and FFVIII are unlike the previous games, so when you get to them I think you’ll appreciate the change.
you missing out big time start with 1 but if oyu want to start in the middle ff7
If you played it man, two thumbs up FOR YOU
also, don’t start with ff8,it will probably ruin your perspective for the series
I can’t not object to this.
If you want to play FFI, don’t play it on DOS and then go around saying you beat FFI and it wasn’t that hard. Play it on the NES or a NES emulator, it will be thousands of times harder.
This is something I feel very strongly about.
I suggest you start with the more accessible games (via ROM download) first, play Mystic Quest, then FF6, then FF4 and then google the Terra X Celes hack for FF4 and patch it, then if you have time, go with FF9, then play the rest.
Oh and FF5 is pretty good too.
Kingdom Hearts is not a Final Fantasy.

You have a point, but I don’t see many of us commenting on the difficulty of any Final Fantasy game.
…lol. (But just asking: have you played FFVI?)
How can you compare a masterpiece like ff6 with a crap like ff7?
Whats your favourite has nothing to do if the game is good or not. FF7 fails in many ways, starting from the graphics, which are so low even for its age (just take a look at tomb raider 2), its FMVs which are the worst ones i have seen in a videogame (check out tomb raider 2 again, it was realised the same year with ff7 and had great fmvs). The battle system has very few improvments from the one from ff6, its like a cheap remake of ff6’s battle system. FF6’s storyline is great, having 2 worlds to explore, 11 (or more) party members each one with a different great story, unlike the one of ff7.

I dont remember Tomb Raider 2 having brilliant graphics. Anyway its not the graphics that make the game good. You like FF6 even though it has 2D graphics. More can be done with 3D graphics no matter how good or bad they are therefore 3D > 2D.
The battle systems dont just improve on the previous game you know. Each system is suposed to be different. If they just were the same with a few improvements then why didnt FF6 have a job system like FF5? Different game different battle system.
That bit about the story doesnt say much. All you did was say that FF6 has a better story. You didnt say why it was better than FF7’s.

I pointed a few things that peope always shout out, like the graphics and fmvs that were great for their time.
I think that the 2 battle systems were very similar, thats what i wanted to point out. And that ff7’s one wasnt that different from ff6’s one, something that made me dissapointed because i think using the same battle system with some differences (like relics==>materia) with some small changes doesnt look nice to my eyes. On the oher hand ff7 brought the special attacks for each players (trance in ff9, i dont remembver the ff7 name of them) and i dont forget that.
About the story. I liked more ff6, and i know if we start talking about the stories we will never finish the conversation ;). So im sorry from bringing them up in the first place
Actually, that concept was introduced in FFVI. Remember desperation attacks?

Relics and materia? Wernt relics items like speed shoes? They made you character faster but I dont remember them letting you cast magic. Big difference there imo. It was the espers that gave you the magic(much like the way you learn magic from equiping weapons in FF9).
Prak, FF6 did have the desperation attacks but I didnt notice any pattern in which they occured. The limit breaks had a bar that filled up and could be used at anytime you wanted which is much better.
False.
You were only able to use desperation attacks when your characters were near-death, and even then it was not guaranteed. The limit breaks in FFVIII seem to be modeled largely after that system.
The system functions exactly as it was intended to in FFVI. Your preference may be toward FFVII’s system, but that does not make them "better" in any sense. It’s like I always say, the difference between fact and opinion is that opinions are viewpoints that distort or ignore fact.

I think I have noticed pattern, correct me if I’m wrong:
1. Enemy attacks character.
2. Character gets critical damage.
3. If it’s inmediatly that character’s turn, and you’ve selected (before the enemy dealt damage) that character doing Fight, then the desperation attack occurs.

Relics had auto regen, backattacks when u were attacked, increase of magic attack, auto reflect etc.
Speed shoes were the only thing that was used outside a battle

No one asked you!!!
(jk <3)
Well I didnt say there wasnt a pattern I just said I didnt notice it :p

Things such as those have nothing to do with materia. There add ons not magic spells.
Quoted for hilarious retardation.
Convince us that FF7 is in any way, shape or form better than FF6. or make it easier on us and tell us if you’ve played FF6 so we can tell you to fuck off if you haven’t.
Quoted for increadible wisdom.
Wrong, they did. Abilities such as double-cast, 1mp spell etc etc

Much more preferable and superior then simply slapping 16 materias on and learning skills at a silly speed.

Unpredictibily can be a good thing, you know. Adds more variation and surprise to the battle, as well as a factor of luck. Where’s the fun in simply charging up Omnislash or some other over-powered ability?
Hm! True! 😀
