I recently d/lded the demo to the game "Prey" for the PC.

Now, certain elements go into this:

1. It’s been in development, on and off, between several publishers/companies since 1998.

2. It’s been totally overhauled 3x’s.

3. The final version was engineered using a optimized/modified Doom III Engine (Far better than Quake 4 IMO)

Now, with these in mind, prior to downloading, I searched for everything i could find on the game in terms of how it’s progressed over the years (Screenshots from previous installations/programming, etc)

I finally finished, and installed.

I auto-scanned at max everything, including 4xAA (which I don’t really need thanks to 1440×900 Res, but whatever) and 16x Antiositropic filtering.

Let me tell you: You will lose your soul if you don’t try this out. It is one of the most original FPS games I’ve played in years. What? Original FPS? Oh yes. Let me tell you why:

1. Puzzle elements (No, completely different than HL/HL2)
2. Rotating rooms.
3. Gravity walking.
4. Many other things.

After the "event" happens which kickstarts the actual game, I’ve never felt so helpless in my life. (You’ll know what I mean. 5-7 minutes of helplessness in movement)

I could go on and on, about a demo that’s pretty much a finished version of what you’ll see in the actual product release in July, so I’ll stop.

You all owe it to yourselves to try this. If anything, you’ll finish the demo and really think you haven’t wasted your time on another "Boring FPS game that’s the same as all others."

You know, I’ve actually heard alot about that game from word of mouth, friends etc…but I’ve never researched it, or even know the premise/plot of the game.

Perhaps I’ll login to ign to see what the game is about.

Well, how dare I? Heh.

You can obtain the demo from several sources (of which you can find with a simple google, or yahoo search):

www.ign.com
www.gamespot.com
www.fileshack.com
www.fileplanet.com

That should help.

The demo itself is about 450megs.

450 megs? that’s like enough time for me to blink twice and..oh nevermind. the download is done. 🙁

lol. anyway. thanks. btw. since you gave me a fps reccommendation, allow me to give you one too.

F.E.A.R.

i will say nothing more. except to pirate it or buy it. up to you. lol

Hah. Well, I appreciate the suggestion, however:

I’ve had the game since last October. Haha.

And you’re right. Say no more, because honestly, this game is phenomenal and in no need of words to describe it.
