No More CG FMVS?!?!?!?!?!!? Eh?!?!?!

Will there be anymore cg fmvs? With the power of the ps3, the graphics looks like a cg fmv all the time!

But one of the best things about final fantasy were the cg fmvs. They had so many magical moments in the fmvs, like the waltz of the moon in ffviii, the dance and the spring in ffx, just to name a few.

So on the ps3, will the final fantasies have some scenes that graphics wise, will look so realistic, that you could mistake it for the real world?

Or has the graphics advance so far already that there will never be anymore cg fmvs? 🙁

Even though that grapics will be great anyways it just means that FMVs will be incredable. They better be if were going to pay that much for it anyways.

In another article, a few years old now, they said that square will remake ffvii, ffviii and ffix all on ps2.

where did you come up with the idea they’re no longer going to have them?

I can’t see them ever ditching them for a number of reasons.

1) simply tradition.

2) the high-quality FMV scenes are often used in advertisements, and it’s rather effective. can’t see them giving that up.

Remember that the people who work on the game are on a budget. You don’t want there to be no more Final Fantasies just because they overwent their budget during super brilliant graphics for one game and went bankrupt, do you?

Btw dont forget that BR Discs hold on even more GBs (dont remember the number of them) than DVDs. It would be easier to add the CGs

i heard a rumour that now they can make cg seem so real it could be cheaper to get real actors.
but anyway, i don’t think CG will ever take over the actual gameplay ’cause… it’s an art. a great friggin piece of non-biological evolving art.

even in the distant future they’ll find a way to make the playing and cutscene/cinematics distinguishable by using camera angles/motions/etc..

they ARE remaking FF7. first of all, they played the tech demo in the middle of a bunch of trailers of upcoming projexts. suspicious…..

secondly, bestbuy was offering to pre-order the FF7 remake on their website. not surprisingly. the page was quickly taken down.

as the graphic potential gets higher, im expecting the guys over at square will have to rely even more than before on creativity to catch our eyes. final fantasy nine wasn’t "realistic" by a long shot, but it still had gripping visuals.
