Does anyone know what the real ff3 is and if it is out there to buy.

The real FF3 is based around the light warriors and the Crystals. It was for the NES (Faicom), and was never released outside Japan. If you really want to play it, you can use the emulation. However, it is being remade for the DS, and should be released outside Japan.
