Resident Evil 4 help

I got resident evil 4 for the ps2 for cristmas. I’m still stuck at the beginning of the game in this village area, I think it’s called Pueblo. Anyway, theres just to many of them. And as soon as you kill them more keep coming. Can you just run through there, or is there a shotgun near by that I can use? One more question, how come sometimes Leon will kick the their heads off, but sometimes the button prompt doesn’t appear?

in this resident evil the knife can be extremely usefull on saving ammo etc
and play slow and observe everything carefully
there are tons of treasures and ammo to be found

Do not go inside the 3rd house . If you do, you have to confront the chainsaw guy which is a lot worse. Yes, you will have a shotgun but you will waste a lot of the ammo. Just run around the village and shoot the zombies. The have bad aiming. Shouldn’t be that hard once you are used to the controls. After a while, the church bell rings and the village will be empty.

In order for the prompt button to appear, you have to stun them first then go close to them. The button will appear. Best way is to shoot their kneecaps.

Lord. C’s advice is the best advice for that situation. The shotgun isn’t needed to survive that segment.

Ok, this is what you should do. Run past all the Ganados and into the house with the shotgun, as earlier pointed out. Jump out the window and run into the house directly in front of you. Kick open the door that has the lock on it, and you can just stand directly in front of the door and shoot enemies as they come in. Or, when you know than an enemy is close enough, slam the door open and it will inflict damage. It’s pretty hard for them to sneak into the room if you shotgun blast 5 or 6 at once, and the small perimeter makes it really easy to do so. After killing a certain amount of Ganados, you are finished.
