Using TECH FIND correctly…

I have searched the forums and can’t seem to find a specific answer for this question (so it might make a good addition to the Blitzball FAQ after being answered):

How do I use TECH FIND correctly? I’m not talking about TECHCOPY which is the flashing message during blitzball games. I’m talking about the prize sometimes for league or short tournaments, but mostly for top scorer.

It is awarded after the match and allows you to "uncover" a hidden tech. I don’t really understand that. Does it mean that a blank spot will become a dashed spot in the player tech list? Does it mean that blank ( ) spot becomes a tech that I can use? Does it only turn a dashed (———) spot into a tech I can use? Can only certain techs be uncovered, or anything, including key techniques? Do I only get to use them in the key technique chain of command or can I use it to find the third key tech before learning the first two?

Please help. My next match will win this for three blitzball players leading in scoring and I don’t want to waste the opportunity!

You have to have the character marking that given player, then if that player uses it. You may learn the skill. I think that’s it.

It turns a blank slot into a dashed slot.
