I’m sorry, I know everybody knows the answer to this but I don’t so quickly – what is the relationship between Tonberry & Cactuar? Is it because theyre in a lot of games, or a result of fan-fiction or something? We should have a discussion about this.

Rubbish. Well, I have seen connections between them all the time, like in flash movies, check the thread "what FF VIII characters would never say" and u’ll find one.
I’ve seen them together in lots of places. Also, I found that you could only get Catuar and Tonberyy internet dolls somewhere, but not any other types.

I must have led a FF sheltered life, but you are right the majority of games torinberry & cactuar are together, Shive & Ifrit, Biggs & Wedge, Bahumat, I think its just there all like cid staples

I dont think there’s a connection between tonberry and cactuar but I think the two were the most popular monsters among fans. Cactuars are the shiz x.x

there are a bunch of things that recur in most of the FF games. aswell as tonberry and cataur; theres malboros and ochus; biggs and wedge; ifrit, shiva and bahumut; chocobos; Cid always has a connection to airships; names of magics, weapons and attacks. theres loads of things. anyone know any more?

There’s a series of flash movies on Newgrounds where Cactaur and Tonberry are teamed up and doing stuff, such as questing for more money or hating the Olsen Twins. I hate them but that’s probably where the idea that they’re connected came from.
In the games, however, I have NEVER seen them together, not even in a battle, so… I dunno. Must be the internet.
