final fantasy xi cheats and exploits?

My friend was over the other day, and I showed him http://www.ffshrine.org It is a site with cheats, bugs, dupes, etc for final fantasy xi. He told me it was against the rules for ffxi to do this. Is this true? I am used to cheating on video games for my whole life, so I was sort of shocked to hear this.

Yes, it is completely and totally against the rules of ANY MMORPG out there. Shit like that has ruined the economy in every one that I’ve played. In most cases, you would be banned from the game if you were caught cheating.

yeah, i hate it when people cheat on mmorpgs…..alot of people cheated on endless and a few people cheat on illutia. even though its not always a big offence, it still makes it unfair to other gamers

I will never–EVER–forgive the dupers who trashed the economy in Ultima Online. That was my favorite of all the MMOGs I’ve played. I hated them so vehemently that I would go out to the server boundaries looking for people duping. When I found them, I would PK them, loot everything they had, and kill them once more if I ever saw them again.

On top of that, I’d report their activities to the GMs and their guild (if they were in one).

well i was gonna try it but i dont ever want to ruin my experience on ffxi online…it was my life for a long period of time and i think to this day it still is…all i have is the windower tho

Cheating on any game is just an easy way out for the people who can’t do it the proper way. I have no problem admitting I’ve never cheated on a game, and not even completed a lot of them because of this where people have said it was easy cuz they cheated. Anyway, I wouldn’t cheat on MMORPG’s. On a single player games alright, but when you’re playing against other people, it ruins more than one persons experience of the game, so there’s no point doing it IMO.
