FF7 Online?

Simply as a question. A recreation of FF7 as an MMORPG style game. How well would it fare? Also, would anybody know the exact dimensions of cities in FF7?

I don’t much like the concept of MMORPGs myself, actually. RPGs to me are all about levelling up on my own for endless hours so I can beat the bosses with a ridiculously small number of attacks. Aside from that, FFVII just won’t work in that format.

well, first i have to say that i like both mmorpgs and ordinary rpg’s….second is that you guys are kinda mean. come on, shavelieva is new and this is his/her first post, support the noobs! and i think it might be cool to have ff7 online, but i dunno.

The main problem is that MMORPGs are open ended stories usually and leave room for the people playing to import their own ideas into the game when actually playing (RPing). Also, MMORPGs you are free to set your own course, you don’t have to do all the quests or act as you are suposed to, you’re free to take your own path.

What would happen if you redefined FF7 as a MMORPG is that the world is too limited, the story would need so much changing that it would be completly lost in the process, there’s no actual good option for character classes or different races.

That’s why we have FF11. =P

well, most of the MMORPGs I play are good except for FF11…..so I don’t really think it would make a good MMORPG.

Perhaps if they created the FFVII universe as a whole and the conflicts of AVALANCHE and Shinra were just mentioned as events happening while you played as other characters it would probably be good. I’d like to be a Merc or SOLDIER just exploring the world of FFVII and go exploring with other players. There is no need to make it JUST like FFVII. People think outside the box, it’s been 5 minutes and I’ve come up with more than 30 things that would make it great.

If FFVII was a MMORGP, you would do the same thing yet battle people around the world, trade for awsome items, team up to kill weapon, chat, and become top of FFVII: Online
