Excalibur

In Daugeurro there is an old man who wants an item (cant remember the name) as his dying wish and in return he will give you Excalibur I, I know where to find the item, its in the Auction House but I have tried countless times but it just wont turn up for sale, anyone got any ideas?

I have the same problem, i’m trying to buy the entire auction to see if something comes up

I know ive bought loads of the same stuff and it still wont pop up and I cant think of anything of else to do, Im just hoping Agent0042 with her undeniable knowledge will come up with something

The item you’re looking for is the Magic Fingertip – a rare item that will only appear in the Auction if you’ve already purchased the following items from the Auction: Unne’s Mirror, Doga’s Artiefact, Rat Tail, and the Griffin’s Heart. (all four items are from old, pre-FFVI FF games)

However, it’s not as simple as just buying them. You actually have to then find some nobles walking around Treno who want to buy the items off you in return. Accept, (at least one of the nobles will buy two of them), head back to the Auction, and you’ll find they’ll once again be up for sale, along with the Magic Fingertip. It is this you need to give the old man at Daguerreo in order to gain the Excalibur.

Cheers that has helped out a lot, I knew abot them nobles but I didnt know you had to sell it to them to get the magical fingertip.

Most of the people who buy the items are wandering aimlessly along the road outside the weapons synthesist shop.

ALSO:
There is an Excalibur II in FFIX. To get it, you have to reach a certain point in the game within 12hours. I’ll find out where it is and post it.

You have to reach Memoria

More specifically, you have to reach and beat the last of the four Chaoses in Memoria.

He means that you’d be better off equipping Steiner with the Ragnarok than you would with Excalibur.

Well cuse Ragnarok is better than Excalibur.
Although Excalibur II is better than the both of them and is the best weapon in the game

But not worth getting cause Steiner can do 9999 without it and it has no new abilities 🙂

Yer and also it is very nearly impossible to get.
And if you try and get it, in the time limit you pretty much ruin the game cuse you probably skipped everything.
Other than that, its reasonable

But yea, just use the Ragnarok. Excalibur is a waste of time and effort, considering that the Ragnarok raises your Attack by more than the Excalibur does.

wait,so how do you get ragnarok?

You get Ragnarok in the Chocobo Hot & Cold game, specifically Chocograph #21 (Outer Island).
