In the submarine battle get the sub destroyed… in other words lose. You will miss out on getting the materia and Bahamut ZERO obviously, but you can go back to the reactor and the dog will be gone. Either that or you talk to it and it will back off. YOu can now go in through that door and aquire a red Shinra sub.

LOL, ya that Asian-dog thing was so obvious. (No offense to those who didn’t get it) Anyways, I woulda just battled him. In any RPG, that’s how I solve 95% of my problems. (The 5% represents those crappy hard puzzles that I can’t figure out without gamefaqs.) There are a lot of monsters/animals in FF7 that should be fightable, like Sapphire Weapon (the one that attacked Junon Town). At least that’s my opinion.
