Well, then you’re one lousy Catholic, because, unless you’ve been ordained, you have no power to give penance to anybody. 😉 Secondly, I don’t think Sharon Olds sinned by merely writing about the Pope’s penis. It wasn’t erotic or insulting, I don’t think; it’s just weird. It’s like listening to your parents talking about their sex life.
