Need help please

I have got to the final save in the northern crater, and chosen to go left then up. So I can fight movers and magic pots. Now I come back to go to the surface and I can’t climb the pole that’s near the savepoint. Everyone is standing around near it. Please don’t tell me I’m stuck down here.. Any help would be appreciatted.

ff7 obviously as this is the ff7 section.
I can’t remember much about ff7 but I think i took the same path as you and got back, plus I’m sure the designers wouldn’t have designed it like a prison

According to my expert friend all I have to do is proceed a bit further, come back and the party should be gone, then I can climb up.

Basicall when you choose your party to go with you on the left and right path, carry on going through the Crater until they give you all the items they find (which is how you get the 2nd Mystile) and then they aren’t there.
