As the game is fairly old now I have just been wondering how active the in-game ffxi community is. Is it still busy and active?
Am I too late in starting? Would there be other players who have recently started and in a similar position to me?

YES there are always new comers to the game >.< the best proof is the dunes in game hehe >.> dont worrie everyone was always new at one point or another ^^

The game may be "fairly old" but look at EQ and AO and all those other MMORPGs out there.
This game will probably never slow down with members.
