The Jecht Shot Challenge

Already I’m ashamed that I have to post the fact that I can’t do it. I’ve finished the game twice a few years ago and I managed to get the Jecht Shot while on the SS Winno, but now I can’t. I just don’t know why not. I’ve tried mashing keys, I’ve tried just being slow and precise, nothing. I have counted the amount of little sentences that i’ve hit, and i’ve got up to 19. What’s going on? What the hell do I do? Analog joystick or D-pad? Mashing or precision? Do i have to do it perfectly, without missing?

How do I tell if Tidus learns the skill? Afterwards when Wakka asks him what was that, he gives the guys a demo, right? This doesn’t happen for me. No little box comes up telling me I’ve learnt it. I’m just tres confused.

Ugh, so many questions over just a damn little skill!

Tidus will have flashbacks on the screen (if I remember correctly), and the flash backs will occur randomly all around the screen (middle, left, right, up, bottom, bottom-right…etc) your objective is whenever you see a flash back is to fight it back by pressing the corresponding direction of the flashback simultaniously with x.
so i.e. if a flash back occurs in the bottom-left corner of the screen, you have to press these buttons SIMULTANIOUSLY (down + left + x).
if i remember correctly, you will get LOADS of flashbacks, and all what you have to do is fight as much as you can back! its quite easy…
and if you succeed Wakka and his mates will be behind you asking for a demo, if you fail, yuna will come to talk to you!

I found the Jeckt shot easy to attain. It’s the best asset to have in Blitzball, because it gets rid of 2 people blocking your shot.
