Problem with FFVII PC version — cannot get Lunar Harp

When i go to the excavation place after the temple of the ancients part, i must dig up the lunar harp. It’s located in the upper area, and for some reason i can’t climb up the ladder when i’m in ‘excavation’ mode and having the workers do their blow up trick thingy.

Any ideas on what to do?

Some things you should probably know first:
– I played it on another computer before, and never ran into this problem
– I’m playing on my laptop, so no numberpad, but i fixed the controls to stuff like enter, shift, etc so it works fine normally(except when i have to name my characters, there i have to use blue+other keys)
– I tried using a character editor(ugh i really don’t like having to do that) to give them lunar harp without doing the excavation, but that doesn’t allow them to pass through the forest.

Did you try using a hammer on the laptop, son?

okay maybe you should the manual, sorry I never really played the ff7 game for the pc. I’ve only played it on the ps
