firstly just wanted to tell the staff of this web that they made a great job, by founding this web.

now, let’s get to the topic shall we…]major spoiler]
i managed in the fifth episode to reach the 80th floor of via infinito.
in there i fought yunalesca who transformed herself to a basilisk named chac.
that abomination breaks the damage limit, casts stony glare which u can’t be immune to, and the most devestating attack,called-heaven’s wrath, or someting like that.
plz help. 🙁

try some garment grids or accesories that help with either Stoneproof or Stone ward

use equipement or garment grids with stoneproof, reach the floor with a gunner with cat nip and with low hp, so whrn you attack her she dies

Use Catnip accessory with Gunner dressphere and you should’ve learned Trigger Happy Lvl. 3.

Btw, I don’t think you can be immuned to that Stony Glare of Chac even though you have Stoneproof or Stone Ward equipped. So just quickly use Soft when one of your characters got petrified or something.

Yeah, I confirm — you’re just gonna have to toss Softs and fast too — before he can shatter the affected party member. Other than that, just used Tidus 66’s trick, but again, be ready to snap away from that and use Soft ASAP if he petrifies anyone.

Oh, and since Stoneproof isn’t gonna work, use a Garment Grid with Break HP Limit if you have it. Higher Power, unless by some chance you have The End, but I’m guessing you don’t.

Here’s another trick — use Lady Luck’s Random Reels and line up three 7s. There’s actually a way to get it almost every time if you use pause and X — once you figure out the timing, it’s a snap. That’ll not only bribe Chac, but give you bonus gil as well. Works on pretty much every boss except machina and the final boss at the bottom of the Via Infinito.

BUT HOW CAN I OVERCOME CHAC’S "ULTIMATE ATTACK" – HEAVENS WRATH\CARASES?

Tips for overcoming that? Well, if you can work the Lady Luck trick I mentioned, that kills him instantly, so you’d never have to face it. Other than that, I’d say high HP, high defense, etc. etc. Mascot dressphere if you have it, but at least one Gunner if you’re doing the Cat Nip trick. What levels are your characters on?

levels are between 86-89 =)
cant find the key item which break the damage limit… >:O

You only get the Invincible accessory (which, if I remember correctly, is the one that breaks the damage limit) if you speak with the guy holding the spherecam targeted at the Youth League base in Chapters 1, 3 and 5. However, The End Garment Grid also gives you Break Damage Limit if you pass through all the gates. But really, you shouldn’t need Break Damage Limit if you can master either the Cat Nip or the Random Reels trick.

How do you get the end garment grid…I don’t have that…and i thoyught I had all…

I think you get The End garment grid by oversouling all the monsters in the game.

You sure do — very time-consuming, the equivalent of capturing 10 of all the monsters for the Arena in FFX. The End is very cool though — it gives your characters Break HP Limit automatically when they equip it and you only have to pass through two gates to get Break Damage Limit, rather than all four like with Higher Power. The really cool thing about this one though is that it gives you Finale, which does 99999 damage if the character hasn’t ever escaped from a battle and the best thing is that the counter resets when you start a New Game Plus, so enough if you ran a whole bunch when you were working on all the enemies to get the Garment Grid, all you have to do is start New Game Plus and then you can fight as little as you want and equip Charm Bangle when you don’t want random encounters. And if you have any trouble with the bosses, just hit them with Finale!

Dont think id be dedicated enough to oversoul every monster in the game.I’ve a social life too.I think even in my 100% game I only over-souled about half the monsters.
