The Twelve Kingdoms (also Known as Juuni Kokki) is about a 16 year old named Nakajima Youko is a Japanese Honour Student who has problems in her life because of her red hair. She is sent into another world by a man named Keiki. When she arrives in the other world she encounter many problems and meets unique characters. And so on…

I love the anime, not because of the Youko’s seiyuu (and I’m a big fan of her Seiyuu) but the character development of Youko and the storyline is just excellent!

I have the complete DVDs but I havent read the novel due to the fact that it has a lot of errors in the novel because of translation and publication

But OMG The Twelve Kingdoms is AWSOME!! Fourth Place in my favourite anime list

I probably should watch more of it but the first two episodes really didn’t catch my attention.

I want to see it but 42 episodes is not something that I want to put my time in right now.

I’ve always thought of the the twelve kingdoms to be like Narnia is to Amarica.

Theirs a lot of old fashioned allegory to it based on old Japanese spiritualism. If you look closely you can even find some amishi.

I even got my niece into it and she’s six. An excellent family show.

How ever I do think some of the stories are missing closer.

Be advised that the story ends at at about episode 36 (or was it 38…?). After that the main plot is wrapped up, a side story worthy of a second season starts. But this story doesn’t get finished.

I probably should watch more of it but the first two episodes really didn’t catch my attention.

My recollection of the series:

eps 1..5-> hmmm..is this going somweres?
eps 6..10 -> i see, interesting angle
eps 10..17-> yawn..get it together already!
eps 17..26-> ooooh…so that’s that it ment…
eps 26..36-> now that’s some fine piece of story! :in awe:
eps 36..42->huh?, Uuuu, interesting. Wth..already ended? gief moar!

12 Kingdoms is a great anime, although there are some boring episodes. There are also alot of great and interesting episodes, my favorite part of the anime is when two new characters Suzu and Shoukei are introduced.

This story, though. The Twelve Kingdoms is a series of light novels, but a novel in the series. I think that this book will be about 600 pages, for example. However, I am looking forward pocket as I always do. I read the third novel by now.
