is destroying Squaresofts creativity and the games are seeming to be of lesser quality.
Both company’s are excelent respectivly, however i feel as though enix is breaking up squaresoft.
what do you think???
however i still have faith ….
Square is cracking down on the trailers and who can distribute (more like stream) them, use a bittorrent client as their fast and efficiant and there is tons of ff trailers and FMV’s.
google search Exeem which is the client and ISO hunt is an excelent site for bittorrent multimedia.
hope this helps guys
ps: any other thoughts on the merger????
Sqaure and Enix merger has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH THE QUALITY OF THEIR GAMES.
The reason is… the developers aren’t exactly merged up. People from Enix aren’t doing Final Fantasy games and likewise, people from Square aren’t doing Grandia or Star Ocean games.
So, the real downfall can really be contributed towards the absense of various big name people such as Amano, Sakaguchi, and Nobuo (which formed their own development studio called Mistwalker). In fact, FFX’s core group really did not do work on FFX-2, which is why the style of the game is very different (though I won’t say the game was bad… I actually enjoyed it).
Enix is a great company and I think that Enix does a GREAT job with their RPGs, especially the Dragon Quest series (8 is coming out btw) and the Star Ocean games. I think it is very unfortunate that most people associate Square’s lack of quality games because of the merger and blames things on Enix. Though I do think that Enix does have a great share of good games, I feel that most people are just too attached to Square and that any slight change will upset them. In reality, when you hear things like company mergers, it is all on an economical stand point, rather than directly affecting the developers that create the games, the ones that aren’t merged at all.
i still say i prefer classic square games, Starocean was excelent by far for enix
i do prefer that to any of the dragon series
Quoted for truth. For every Final Fantasy X-2, there is a Star Ocean: ‘Til the End of Time.
I cant deny that there is something different about the games, i loved the atmosphere and storylines of previous installments in the series.(although XII looks like it has potential)
I stand by SQUARE (the original division) not Squaresoft, Square-Enix or Enix really.
The father final fantasy is my inspiration – Hironobu Sakaguchi (Executive producer) I will be tuned in to see how Mist-Walker develops.
Enix never had many RPG’s localized here in Australia except Starocean (i think)
and i found square with secret of mana long ago so they are my Affinity
while its true that their games today are either hit or miss, most of them still have excellent storylines backed by excellent production quality.
Read the post.If you had any common sense, you would know that Square-Enix made FFX-2 and my point was that it didnt have the standard of previous FF games.Other factors may have influenced this, but the most likely conclusion is that the merger affected the quality of the games.Changes in staff maybe, who knows.
i agree with the ff x-2 part. i hated it so much i didn’t even finish it

Their would be minor staff turnover but both company’s remain respective.
operating as a joint buisiness though, their RESOURCES are speard out too much to be effective… when was the last breathtaking game S-E released???
they seem to be creating cash cow games and projects! where are new exciting things heading our way?
