Problem with FMV on disc 2 (PC)

Hiya, I have a very powerful PC, that messes up the graphics on FF8. This feable excuse has allowed me to put it on my sisters less powerful laptop. Anyway, I am up to the part when the Garden is moving and you have to go to Edea’s House. You then meet the other garden, and are told by the driver to take a look, giving you some binoculars. At this point, my CD whizzes up, but doesn’t do anything.

After about 2 mins, I get a serious error has occured and FF8.exe needs to close! Seriously annoying as I can’t continue.

Wierdest thing is, I’ve managed to play up to there (clocking up just under 21 hours, I like strolling) easily and with no problems whatsoever!

I had the patch installed BEFORE trying it, and so don’t know what would happen if I take it off!

But with the fmv is your disc copied or original as I had a copy for my ps and it never worked on that scene.

Also is the disc sratched in anyway?
