He’s most likely a clever sales-/tradesmen, er, tradesmoogle. Due to his being of greenish colour, he’s not easyly to be detected, also, a single moogle is far from being enough to feed a huge monster.

Kupo could be compared to Smurf (ah, good childhood days), it can be used to convey any possible meaning, or just as an addon to a word or a sentence, kupo!
