For the record, Advent Rising looks like it’s going to be pretty fucking rad. But it’s on X-box. And it’s not FF.
Seriously, though. You should play something else.
Like Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War or Legacy of Kain: Defiance.
AC5 has a great storyline to accompany the mission briefings and superb allied AI for the pilots (though they should stop bitching about hating war and just kill those damn dirty Yukes).
And Legacy of Kain: Defiance is just fucking awesome. Words cannot adequately convey this.

If its the story of games you like, then you cant go past VI. It beats VII in every way other than graphics.
If you feel you need to play a newer one, then you’ll probably like X, although VIII and IX will be more fun if you can look past the graphics.
