Maechen is a very old unsent, as seen in the final chapter of X-2.

There’s no guarantee that every Ronso on the mountain fought Seymour. Some might have been in different areas. Also, there were probably quite a few elsewhere in Spira.

Any summoner with the final aeon should be able to do it, although it’s not guaranteed.

I don’t recall specifics, but either Luzzu or Gatta could survive, depending on dialogue options you get before the battle.

Auron Dies at Zanarkand when he is seeking for revenge, but i think he escapes and he is rescued by Rin, but he dies, and becomes an unsent that’s why Rin was admired with the fact that Auron could even walk with those wounds.
The Ronso aren’t just in Gagazet, and some like the kids might survived, Maechen is an Unsent a very old one, That part of Seymor’s quote is justified right after he says that quote.

Yes, he doesn’t die in Zanarkand. You guys were probably thinking about the scene before the fight with Yunalesca where you see the young Auron attacking Yunalesca. Then you saw him faint or something, and mistook it as if he had died there.
