If you have the game itself, you can rip the music files direct, as they’re in a version of WAV format (only the file extension is different.) Theoretically, you could simply copy and past the entire OST into a different folder and rename them, especially the file extension as ‘wav’, and they’d work.
There is a free program though (found through a link mentioned below) that properly converts the FFXI music files into WAV format, allowing you to simply convert them into mp3 format yourself through any standard mp3 convertor. I’m slowly going through FFXI’s OST and doing that myself (currently I’m up to the Chocobo theme and Heaven’s Tower).
there is an FAQ on GameFAQ’s about FFXI’s music (and editing the files), but I won’t post it here. A simple search on GameFAQs should find it with no trouble though.
